Why you'd want to live in Florence

Don't blink. You will have missed Florence, Montana. Florence actually straddles the Missoula/Ravalli County line. Lots of people like Florence because of the easy commute to Missoula and the airport but the taxes are much less than in Missoula County! Like the rest of the Bitterroot Valley, it's growing and besides the little grocery store, they now have a couple of doctors' offices, a bank and a few other businesses but the "town" of Florence only offers your necessities. The area, however, is great, just like the rest of the Valley. Between the Sapphire and Bitterroot mountains, the friendly community of Florence offers easy access to Threemile Wildlife Management Area for excellent hunting and wildlife-watching opportunities. In addition, the area provides winter range for elk as well as summer recreation activities. Florence Education As with other cities in the Bitterroot, Florence has its own school district including the elementary, middle, and high schools. It's a little smaller than some of the others but there's always plenty of activities. They have a full sports program, music program, arts, you name it. It's not a large area and there aren't as many homes as other cities in the Valley so when one comes up, it is usually snatched up fast.
